BIOGRAPHY

Music was a major part of my life growing up. At the age of 13, my dad and I joined a well known band called "The Westernaires." We played music mainly in the Giddings, Brenham, Bellville, and Rosenberg area.

In the early 90s, I left music and my day job behind to attend  Army Basic Training in Ft. Dix, NJ. After completing basic training and AIT school in Newport News, Virginia, I returned to my Texas National Guard unit in Austin and my day job. I also returned to music. I became an original member of the band "Lost Wolf" and would be part of two other bands before deciding it was time for me to start my own band.

As luck would have it, I met up with Jeff Chance. Jeff was a great singer, fiddle, and steel player from El Campo, Texas. I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Jeff for almost two years before he died unexpectedly. Out of respect and admiration for Jeff, I named my band Kenny Orts and No Chance.

My goal everytime I take the stage is to provide music people enjoy dancing too. While music hasn't paid off for me monetarily, the memories that have come with it have been worth every penny spent. I will always provide a show that's family friendly for all ages and I will keep on doing my part to try and keep the Texas Dancehalls alive!
God Bless,
Kenny
